Hardy Darty

2 Stage Boosted Dart

Hardy Darty is a high-powered, two-stage rocket built by the UC Rocketry Club. Designed and built in just a 17-day build phase in the fall of 2025, this project showcases our team's ability to rapidly prototype and execute complex tasks.

Project Highlights & Accomplishments:

  • Max velocity of Mach 1.05.

  • Successfully launched to an apogee of 9,284 feet.

  • Flew with a dual flight computer setup, using both a Blue Raven altimeter and a custom-built ESP32S3 microcontroller system.

  • Executed a flawless drag separation and safely recovered both stages using a dual-parachute system.

Double or Nothing

2 Stage High-Powered Rocket

Double or Nothing is a high-powered, two-stage rocket built by the UC Rocketry Club. Designed and built as the Spring 2026 project, this fully fiberglass rocket features a 3-inch booster and a 38mm minimum diameter upper stage, showcasing our team's ability to design custom avionics and complex staging mechanisms.

Project Highlights & Accomplishments:

  • Max velocity of Mach 0.93.

  • Successfully launched to an apogee of 10,116.75 feet.

  • Flew with a highly complex second-stage flight computer setup, featuring three power-independent systems: a BlueRaven altimeter, an EasyMini altimeter, and a custom-built ESP32-S3 microcontroller system.

  • Successfully executed second-stage motor ignition in flight using a Pyrodex pellet and safely recovered both stages using independent parachute systems.
